Description
Procyon is a non-anthropomorphic raccoon. He has predominantly grey fur with the typical dark and light raccoon markings and blue eyes. He has no obvious distinguishing features: aside from the somewhat rare eye color he looks like any raccoon you'd see in the wild.
Despite his appearance Procyon can speak normally, and has fully dextrous forepaws capable of holding and manipulating any object he is strong enough to pick up. He can stand and walk on his hind legs but generally moves quadrupedally, and doesn't wear clothes.
Background
Procyon was raised in an isolated mountain region with very little contact with civilization, though later on, motivated by curiosity, migrated out and discovered that living in contact with nearby cities was a lot easier than living in the wilderness. He is now about equally comfortable in the forest and in the city.
Personality
Procyon is inquisitive and curious, and being a feral creature with little in the way of civilized upbringing tends to be rather abrupt and direct in his dealings with other intelligent creatures. While not particularly talkative in general can be quite unrestrained about speaking his mind when he feels like it. On the other hand, the fact that he's quite a bit smaller than just about everyone else he encounters, not to mention skittish by nature, means that it doesn't take much to make him whimper in fear or go diving for cover. Especially if you happen to have claws or fangs.
While fairly intelligent in abstract reasoning and reasonably well-spoken when he needs to be, Procyon can be grossly naive at times and is easily fooled. His limited exposure to anthropomorphic culture and lack of formal education only exacerbates this problem.
Interests
Astronomy, mountains, snow, mirrors, travel, making fun of larger creatures.
